Thank you for your Explanatory Memorandum 13468/07 dated
1 April 2008. This was considered by Sub-Committee A at their
meeting on 29 April. The Sub-Committee broadly supports the
Government's approach and decided to hold the document under scrutiny
pending the discussions in the anti-fraud working group and the
Economic and Finance Committee. The Sub-Committee would be grateful
for details on the progress of negotiations, particularly on the
ECB's suggestion that the proposal be split into two parts.
