Select Committee on Privileges First Report

Declaration of Relevant Interests in Debate

1.  The Sub-Committee on Lords' Interests has considered a complaint made against three Members for failing to comply with the provisions of the Code of Conduct on the declaration of relevant interests in debate. The Sub-Committee's report is printed in the Appendix.

2.  The Sub-Committee has concluded that the Members concerned did infringe the Code. They have apologised, and the Sub-Committee is of the view that the matter should now be considered as closed.

3.  We endorse the conclusions of the Sub-Committee and therefore report the matter to the House with a recommendation that no further action should be taken. We take this opportunity to remind Members of the relevant paragraphs of the Code of Conduct, which are included in the Sub-Committee's report.
