21   Skills base (3-hour debate) Lord Leitch moved for papers relating to the development of the United Kingdom’s skills base. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

22   Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Bill The bill was returned from the Commons with their disagreement to certain Lords amendments insisted on, and with Commons amendments to which the Lords have disagreed not insisted on but with amendments proposed in lieu. The amendments were ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 87)

23   Sport (2-hour debate) Lord Pendry moved for papers relating to the local and national role of sport. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

24   Vehicle Registration Marks Bill The bill was considered in Committee. The House resumed and the bill was reported without amendment. The report was received.

25   People trafficking A question was asked by Lord Sheikh and, after debate, answered by Lord Bassam of Brighton.

1   Ceredigion County Council (Respondents) v Jones (FC) and others (FC) (Appellants) Further to the Order of the House of 23 May 2007 (33rd Report Session 2006-07; [2007] UKHL 24) it was ordered that there be no order for costs in this House or, in relation to the action so far in relation to the jurisdiction issue considered by the House, in Her Majesty’s Court of Appeal save that the appellants’ costs be taxed in accordance with the Access to Justice Act 1999.

2   Appeal Committee The 67th Report from the Appeal Committee was agreed to and the following Order was made:

Yewbelle Limited (Respondents) v London Green Developments Limited (Petitioners) and others (Respondents) That leave to appeal be refused; that the respondents be at liberty to apply for their costs in accordance with direction 5.1(d); and if the application is granted, that the amount thereof be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties.
