The Lord President (Baroness Amos) moved that the draft instruments be referred to a Grand Committee en bloc. The motion was agreed to.
19 Olympic Games 2012 (2½-hour debate) Baroness Valentine moved for papers relating to the actions needed to ensure that in staging the Olympic Games, London and the United Kingdom secure a lasting legacy of economic and social benefit. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
20 Bosnia Herzegovina Lord Drayson repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
21 Law reform: murder (2½-hour debate) Lord Lloyd of Berwick moved for papers relating to the report of the Law Commission on reform of the law of murder including the question of mandatory life sentences. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
22 Parliament (Joint Departments) Bill [HL] The Lord President (Baroness Amos) moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
23 European Union (Information, etc.) Bill [HL] The bill was considered in Committee. Amendments were considered. The House resumed and the bill was reported without amendment.
24 Welfare Reform Bill The bill was reported from the Grand Committee with amendments. It was ordered that the bill be printed as amended. (HL Bill 48)
