The House met at half-past two oclock.
PRAYERS were read by the Lord Bishop of Peterborough.
1. Lord Bishop of Ripon and LeedsJohn Richard Lord Bishop of Ripon and Leeds was introduced between the Lord Bishop of Peterborough and the Lord Bishop of Newcastle; and took and subscribed the oath pursuant to statute.
2. Lord Harris of High CrossThe Lord Speaker acquainted the House that Lord Harris of High Cross, a member of the House, had died on 19th October 2006.

3. R v. Davis (Appellant) (On Appeal from the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division))The appeal of Iain Davis was presented and ordered to be prosecuted subject to the procedures applicable thereto.
4. Confiscation Unit, Organised Crime Division (Respondents) v. McKinsley (FC) (Petitioner)The petition of James McKinsley praying for leave to appeal was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee. The petitioners certificate of public funding was lodged.

F T Everard & Sons Limited and others (Respondents)The petition of the appellant praying that the time for lodging the statement and appendix and setting down the cause for hearing might be extended to 10th November (the agents for the respondents consenting thereto) was presented; and it was ordered as prayed (lodged 14th October).
