1. Lord Browne of Belmont—Wallace Hamilton Browne, Esquire, having been created Baron Browne of Belmont, of Belmont in the County of Antrim, for life by Letters Patent dated in the afternoon of 12th June 2006, was introduced between the Lord Molyneaux of Killead and the Lord Rana, the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod and Garter King of Arms preceding; and took and subscribed the oath pursuant to statute.
2. Lord Bilimoria—Karan Faridoon Bilimoria, Esquire, CBE, having been created Baron Bilimoria, of Chelsea in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, for life by Letters Patent dated in the forenoon of 16th June 2006, was introduced between the Lord Dholakia and the Baroness Prashar, the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod and Garter King of Arms preceding; and took and subscribed the oath pursuant to statute.

3. Lees (Petitioner) v. M. Young Legal Associates and another (Respondents)—The petition of Robert Heywood Ogden Lees praying for leave to appeal was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee (lodged 13th June).

Guernroy Limited (Respondents)—The petition of Halton International Inc (Holding) S.A.R.L. (formerly Halton International Inc) and Mohtaram Kaddoura praying for leave to appeal was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee.
7. R v. G (Petitioner)—The petition of G praying for leave to appeal in accordance with the Criminal Appeal Act 1968 was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee (lodged 17th July).
8. Riverside Housing Association Limited (Appellants) v. White (FC) and another (FC) (Respondents)—The appeal was set down for hearing and referred to an Appellate Committee.
9. Ceredigion County Council (Respondents) v. Jones (FC) and others (FC) (Appellants)—The petition of the appellants praying that the time for lodging the statement and appendix and setting down the cause for hearing might be extended to 4th September or to the third sitting day after the next ensuing meeting of the House (the agents for the respondents consenting thereto) was presented; and it was ordered as prayed.

24. Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Order 2006—It was moved by the Lord Evans of Temple Guiting that the Order laid before the House on 29th June be approved; the motion was agreed to.

Government of Wales Bill—The Commons amendments and reasons were considered; motions not to insist on certain Lords amendments were agreed to; motions not to insist on certain Lords amendments and to agree with amendments proposed by the Commons in lieu were agreed to; a motion to insist on certain Lords amendments was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
26. Armed Forces Bill—The House resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the House) withdrawn; the House was resumed.
27. Terrorism Act 2000 (Proscribed Organisations) (Amendment) Order 2006—It was moved by the Baroness Scotland of Asthal that the draft Order laid before the House on 17th July be approved; after debate, the motion was agreed to.
