Public Business
8. Electoral Administration BillA bill to make provision in relation to the registration of electors and the keeping of electoral registration information; standing for election; the administration and conduct of elections and referendums; and the regulation of political parties was brought from the Commons, read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 58)
9. Electoral Administration BillIt was ordered that the Explanatory Notes relating to the bill be printed. (HL Bill 58-EN)
10. Royal Mail (Balloted debate)It was moved by the Lord Clarke of Hampstead that there be laid before the House papers relating to the case for a Government policy towards the Royal Mail which best reflects the national interest in all respects; after debate, the motion was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
11. Terrorism (Northern Ireland) BillThe bill was reported from the Grand Committee without amendment.
12. National Offender Management Service (Balloted debate)It was moved by the Baroness Gibson of Market Rasen that there be laid before the House papers relating to the impact of the National Offender Management Service on the Criminal Justice System; after debate, the motion was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
13. Transport for London (Best Value) (Contracting Out of Investment and Highway Functions) Order 2005It was moved by the Lord Bassam of Brighton that the draft Order laid before the House on 16th November be approved; after debate, the motion was agreed to.
14. European Union: Belarus, Moldova and UkraineThe Lord Ponsonby of Shulbrede asked Her Majestys Government what is their policy towards developments in the European Unions relations with Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine; after debate, the question was answered by the Baroness Royall of Blaisdon.
