1. Barony of Milner of Leeds in the Peerage of the United KingdomThe Lord Chancellor reported that Richard James Milner had established his succession to the Barony of Milner of Leeds in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter the Lord Milner of Leeds on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5).

2. A (FC) and others (FC) (Appellants) v. Secretary of State for the Home Department (Respondent) (England)The appeal of A and others was presented and it was ordered that in accordance with Standing Order VI the statement and appendix thereto be lodged on or before 12th January next. The certificate of public funding relating to all appellants was lodged.
3. Regina v. Hayter (Appellant) (On Appeal from the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division))The appeal of Paul Ali Hayter was presented and ordered to be prosecuted subject to the procedures applicable thereto.
4. Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council (Respondents) v. Torkington (Petitioner)The petition of Geoffrey Ralph Torkington praying for leave to appeal was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee.

Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Bill [HL]A bill to amend Part 4 of the Family Law Act 1996 and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997; to make provision about homicide; to make common assault an arrestable offence; to provide for a procedure under which a jury tries only sample counts on an indictment; and to make provision in relation to victims of offences, witnesses of offences and others affected by offences was presented by the Baroness Scotland of Asthal, read a first time and ordered to be printed. 15. Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Bill [HL]It was ordered that the Explanatory Notes relating to the bill be printed. (HL Bill 6-EN)
16. Harbours Bill [HL]A bill to amend the procedure for dealing with applications for orders under section 14 or 16 of the Harbours Act 1964 and for making orders under section 15 of that Act; and for connected purposes was presented by the Lord Berkeley, read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 7)
17. Business of the HouseIt was moved by the Lord President (Baroness Amos) that Standing Order 41 (Arrangement of the Order Paper) be dispensed with on Tuesday 9th December to allow the motion standing in the name of the Baroness Greenfield to be taken before the Second Reading of the Public Audit (Wales) Bill [HL]; the motion was agreed to.
18. Business of the HouseIt was moved by the Lord President (Baroness Amos) that the debate on the motion in the name of the Baroness Greenfield set down for Tuesday 9th December shall be limited to 2½ hours; the motion was agreed to.
19. GamblingIt was moved by the Chairman of Committees that a Committee of eight Lords be appointed to join with a Committee appointed by the Commons to consider and report on any draft Gambling Bill presented to both Houses by a Minister of the Crown;

the motion was agreed to and it was ordered that a message be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
20. The Queens SpeechThe debate on the motion that an Humble Address be presented to Her Majesty was resumed and, after further debate, was again adjourned till tomorrow.
