1. Appeal Committee—The 52nd Report from the Appeal Committee was agreed to and the following Order was made—
Mulkerrins (formerly Woodward) (FC) (Appellant) v. Pricewaterhouse Coopers (a firm) (formerly trading as Coopers & Lybrand (a firm)) (Respondents)—That the petition of the Official Receiver that he might be heard or otherwise intervene in the said appeal be allowed.

2. Instrument withdrawn—The following instrument, laid before the House on 5th June, was withdrawn:

4. Affirmative Instrument—The following instrument was laid before the House for approval by resolution and ordered to lie on the Table:
Draft Contracting Out (Functions in relation to the Management of Crown Lands) Order 2003, laid under the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994, together with an Explanatory Memorandum.
5. Paper not subject to parliamentary proceedings—The following paper was laid before the House and ordered to lie on the Table:
Government Indemnity Scheme: Report of the value of Contingent Liabilities arising from undertakings made under the National Heritage Act 1980 which remained outstanding at 31st March 2003, laid under that Act.

Public Business
7. Countryside (4-hour debate)—It was moved by the Lord Palmer that there be laid before the House papers relating to the situation in the British countryside; after debate, the motion was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
8. Drugs (2-hour debate)—It was moved by the Lord Cobbold that there be laid before the House papers relating to the long term effectiveness of current national and international policies on drugs; after debate, the motion was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
9. Race Relations Act 1976 (Amendment) Regulations 2003—It was moved by the Lord Filkin that the draft Regulations laid before the House on 8th May be approved; after debate, the motion was agreed to.
10. Regulatory Reform (British Waterways Board) Order 2003—It was moved by the Lord Whitty that the draft Regulatory Reform Order laid before the House on 28th April be approved; after debate, the motion was agreed to.
