1. Regina v. London Borough of Lambeth (Respondents) ex parte W (Appellant) (England)The appeal of W was presented and it was ordered that in accordance with Standing Order VI the statement and appendix thereto be lodged on or before 14th August next.
2. Regina v. Smith (Petitioner) and anotherThe petition of Graham Westgarth Smith praying for leave to appeal in accordance with the Criminal Appeal Act 1968 was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee (lodged 5th April).

13. National Insurance Contributions BillThe bill was read a third time and passed.
14. Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 2) BillIt was moved by the Lord McIntosh of Haringey that the bill be now read a second time; the motion was agreed to and the Committee was negatived.
15. Education BillThe bill was read a third time; amendments were agreed to; amendments were moved and (by leave of the House) withdrawn; further amendments were agreed to (see division lists 1 to 3); then, after debate, the bill was passed and returned to the Commons with amendments.
16. Football clubsThe Lord Clark of Windermere asked Her Majestys Government what proposals they have regarding the ownership of football league clubs; after debate, the question was answered by the Baroness Blackstone.
