2. Business of the HouseIt was moved by the Lord Privy Seal (Lord Williams of Mostyn) that Standing Order 40 (Arrangement of the Order Paper) be dispensed with on Monday next to allow the motion standing in the name of the Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean to be taken before the European Communities (Amendment) Bill; the motion was agreed to.
3. Civil Partnerships Bill [HL]It was moved by the Lord Lester of Herne Hill that the bill be now read a second time; after debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
The House was adjourned at a quarter before three oclock
