14. Human RightsThe First Special Report from the Joint Committee, Criminal Justice and Police Bill, was made; it was ordered that the Report be printed, together with the Minutes of Evidence. (HL Paper 42)
Public Business
15. Parliamentary Referendum Bill [HL]The bill was read a third time; a privilege amendment was agreed to; then the bill was passed and sent to the Commons.
16. Private Security Industry Bill [HL]The bill was further considered on report; amendments were agreed to; amendments were moved and (by leave of the House) withdrawn; it was ordered that the bill be printed as amended. (HL Bill 34)
17. Vehicles (Crime) BillThe House resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the Committee) withdrawn; the House was resumed.
18. Chinook ZD 576It was moved by the Lord Chalfont to resolve That, whilst recognising that the final decision will be a decision for the whole House, it is desirable that the Liaison Committee should consider the appointment of a Select Committee to consider all the circumstances surrounding the crash of Chinook helicopter ZD 576 on the Mull of Kintyre on 2nd June 1994; after debate, the motion was agreed to.
19. Vehicles (Crime) BillThe House again resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the Committee) withdrawn; the House was resumed after clause 16 stood part.
