77. This Act binds the Crown.
|
| Commencement. |
78. - (1) Subject to subsection (2), the preceding provisions of this Act shall come into force on such day as the Lord Chancellor may by order made by statutory instrument appoint; and different days may be appointed for different purposes.

(2) The following provisions shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed-

(c) in Part V, sections 49 to 52, 55, 56, 58 and 59 and Schedules 7 and 8, |

(d) in Part VI, section 74, and |
| |
(e) in Schedule 11, Part III and Part IV (1), (2) and (4). |
| Extent. |
79. - (1) Part II extends to Scotland.

(2) Sections 68(2) and (3) and 74(2) extend to Northern Ireland.
|
| |
(3) Sections 71, 72 and 73 and (subject to subsection (4)) this Part extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

(4) The provisions of this Act which make amendments or repeals in other enactments have the same extent as the enactments which they amend or repeal.
|
| |
(5) Subject to that, this Act extends to England and Wales.
|
| |
(6) For the purposes of the Scotland Act 1998 this Act, so far as it extends to Scotland, shall be taken to be a pre-commencement enactment within the meaning of that Act.
|
| Short title. |
80. This Act may be cited as the Access to Justice Act 1999.
