      The British Council provides me with secretarial assistance which relates to my obligations as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Council and to diary management and associated matters.   No financial benefit arises from this support.   I took up my 3 year term with the Council on 1 December 2004 and that was renewed by the decision of the Board of Trustees in December 2007
