1. On 11 July 2007 the Committee published its First Special Report for the session 2006-07 on "Scrutinising Statutory Instruments: Departmental Returns 2006". On 26 February 2008 a letter containing the Government's response to the Committee's Special Report was sent to the Chairman by the Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice. The letter is published as an Appendix to this Special Report.
