3    Rape (Defences),—Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill to amend the Sexual Offences Act 2003 to prohibit the use of a defence of sleepwalking in proceedings relating to the offence of rape; and for connected purposes: And that Harry Cohen, Mrs Linda Riordan, Ms Dari Taylor, Siobhain McDonagh, Joan Ryan and and Chris McCafferty do prepare and bring it in.

4    Rape (Defences) Bill,—Harry Cohen accordingly presented a Bill to amend the Sexual Offences Act 2003 to prohibit the use of a defence of sleepwalking in proceedings relating to the offence of rape; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 17th October and to be printed [Bill 153].

5    Supplementary Estimate, 2008-09,—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That, for the year ending with 31st March 2009, for expenditure by HM Treasury—

    (1) further resources, not exceeding £1,000, be authorised for use as set out in House of Commons Paper No. 1061, and

    (2) a further sum, not exceeding £42,200,000,000, be granted to Her Majesty out of the Consolidated Fund, to meet the costs as so set out—(Mr Stephen Timms);

    And it being three hours after the commencement of proceedings on the Motion, the Deputy Speaker put the Question, pursuant to Order [14th October]:—It was agreed to.

    Ordered, That a Bill be brought in upon the foregoing Resolution: And that the Chairman of Ways and Means, Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, Yvette Cooper, Mr Stephen Timms, Angela Eagle and Ian Pearson do prepare and bring it in.

6    Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 3) Bill,—Mr Stephen Timms accordingly presented a Bill to authorise the use of resources for the service of the year ending with 31st March 2009 and to apply a sum out of the Consolidated Fund to the service of that year; and to appropriate the supply authorised by this Act for the service of that year: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be printed [Bill 148].

7    Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 3) Bill,—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, pursuant to Order [14th October], That the Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 3) Bill be read a second time;

    And the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 56 (Consolidated Fund Bills), That the Bill be now read a second time:—It was agreed to.

    The Bill was accordingly read a second time.

    And the Question being put forthwith, That the Bill be now read the third time:—It was agreed to.
