8    Safety of Medicines (Evaluation) Bill,—Dr Ian Gibson, supported by Mr Mike Hancock and Mr David Amess, presented a Bill to make provision about the evaluation of methods of testing the safety of medicines; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 17th October and to be printed [Bill 131].

9    Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [Lords],—The House, according to Order, proceeded to consider the Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [Lords], as amended in the Public Bill Committee.

    Amendment (No. 1) proposed to the Bill, in page 13, line 26, to leave out the word 'direct' and insert the words 'advise in writing', instead thereof.—(Lorely Burt.)

    Question proposed, That the Amendment be made:—Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.

    Another Amendment (No. 10) proposed to the Bill, in page 18, line 16, at the end, to insert the words 'may require the regulator to withdraw the notice and pursue the matter as a criminal offence under the relevant provisions,'.—(Lorely Burt.)

10    Deferred Divisions,—The Deputy Speaker announced that, in the Deferred Division on Wednesday 9th July on the Motion relating to the draft Northern Ireland (Sentences) Act 1998 (Specified Organisations) Order 2008, the numbers voting Aye were 298 rather than 285.

    Whereupon the Deputy Speaker directed the Clerk to correct the numbers in the Journal accordingly, viz.: Ayes 298, Noes 118.

11    Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [Lords],—And the Question being again proposed, That the Bill be now read a third time;

    And the Question being put:—It was agreed to.
