1    Death of a Member,—The Speaker made the following communication to the House:

    I regret to have to report to the House the death of Mrs Gwyneth Dunwoody, Member for Crewe & Nantwich. I am sure that Members on all sides of the House will join me in mourning the loss of a colleague and in extending our sympathy to the honourable Member's family and friends.

2    First Delegated Legislation Committee,—Mr David Wilshire reported from the First Delegated Legislation Committee the draft Immigration (Biometric Registration) (Pilot) Regulations 2008.

    Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee to lie upon the Table.

3    Finance Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for the Second Reading of the Finance Bill;

    And a Motion being made, and the Question being put, That the Bill be now read a second time;

The House divided.

So the Question was agreed to. The Bill was accordingly read a second time.

    (2) the remainder of the Bill be committed to a Public Bill Committee; and

    (3) when the provisions of the Bill considered by the Committee of the whole House and the Public Bill Committee have been reported to the House, the Bill be proceeded with as if it had been reported as a whole to the House from the Public Bill Committee.—(Jane Kennedy.)

5    Land Registration,—A Motion was made, and the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 118 (Delegated Legislation Committees), That the draft Land Registration (Network Access) Rules 2008, which were laid before this House on 5th March, be approved—(Liz Blackman):—It was agreed to.

6    Public Petition,—A Public Petition from professionals in the nursery sector, concerned parents and members of the public relating to Nurseries Code of Practice was presented and read.

7    Adjournment.

    A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn—(Liz Blackman);
