Observations from the Secretary of State for the Home Department :

The Government notes the petition of Mr. G Dadd of North Yorkshire county council and others about police funding in North Yorkshire.

However, the Government consider that the petitioners’ concern is misplaced. The provisional police funding settlement for 2008-09 to 2010-11, announced on 6 December 2007 by the Home Secretary, provides for the North Yorkshire formula grant to be increased by 2.5 per cent. in each year.
