Letter of correction from Ruth Kelly:
An error has been identified in an answer given by the Secretary of State to the right hon. Member for Wokingham (Mr. Redwood) in the course of the Opposition day debate on Network Rail on 8 January 2008. The correct answer should have been:
Ruth Kelly: ...and in which Government investment in capacity, far from increasing—as it is, to £10 billion over the next five-year period—returns to a level of chronic under-investment.

An error has been identified in the comments made by Mr. Harris in the course of his response to the Opposition day debate on Network Rail on 8 January. The correct wording should have been:
The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport (Mr. Tom Harris): ...Network Rail came to the rescue of Railtrack. When Railtrack was drowning in its own inefficiencies, and costs for the upgrading of the west coast main line had gone to above £14 billion with no prospect of the project finishing...
