Memorandum from Cilla Long
(CJ&I 220)
I am writing due to my very real concerns relating to the amendments put
forward on this bill.
I am a Christian who like thousands of others are not against homosexuals
yet do hold to the Bible's teaching that sex in all forms outside of marriage
are sinful. This of course includes homosexual sexual acts.
I do not wish that this group of people anymore than any other are victimised,
and therefore understand the need for laws to protect. However I believe we
already have laws in place to fulfil this need.
The amendments proposed are bias towards homosexuals and deny the rights
and freedoms of Christians to follow the teachings of the Bible which our whole
legal system have been built upon.
The Bible clearly states that sex should be between one man and one woman
within marriage. The reason of this is for our benefit to live happy balanced
fulfilled, healthy lives. Not only as individuals but also as a family unit.
I believe it is the downfall of the family that has directly effects the
society we currently live in.
The government has commented regarding the lack of respect people have for one
another. This law shows no respect for God. For his Word, Or his people. It deny's our freedom to speak according to
our belief.
This law effectely makes it a crime to teach certain parts of the Bible,
even in church.
Please note that God has warned people not to take out or add anything to His
Word, which is the Bible. Or suffer the
consequences!
If this Bill becomes law you will be filling prisons with Christians who's only
crime will be following the teachings of the Bible.
