V. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR ORGANIC PRODUCTION

Public assistance

66. Financial support for organic production may be granted by the Governments of Member States under European Union agri-environment measures (EC regulation 2078/92). All Member States have taken advantage of this regulation to provide support for conversion and, with the exception of the UK, for maintenance of organic production. Table 5 opposite sets out the current rates applicable across the EU.
