| (a) | endorses the proposed introduction of a Public Private Partnership into BNFL along the lines set out by the Secretary of State in July 1999 and welcomes the decision announced in March 2000 to delay the introduction of a PPP;

| |
| (b) | calls on Ministers to ensure so far as possible that BNFL performs henceforth as if it were subject to private ownership disciplines and to set revised targets for all the parts of BNFL's business, with clear timescales for their achievement;
|
| |
| (c) | seeks clarification of the Government's policy on reprocessing, and in particular on BNFL seeking new contracts overseas;
|
| |
| (d) | expects an early decision on full commissioning of the Sellafield Mox plant;
|
| |
| (e) | requires as preconditions of a PPP a commitment to an independently managed and segregated nuclear liabilities fund, and clearer accounting by BNFL; and
|
| |
| (f) | instructs the Trade and Industry Committee to continue its scrutiny of the proposals for introduction of a PPP into BNFL.
