Patients for whom screening may well prove beneficial:

—  smokers or former smokers;

—  heavy drinkers (especially spirits);

—  those with at least a family member diagnosed with laryngeal carcinoma;

—  patients with a long standing viral infection.

  NALC feels that additional research should ascertain whether some occupational groups, and those residents from areas with levels of recorder pollution should be added top these numbers.
