The Social Security Committee has agreed to the following Special Report:--

TAX AND BENEFITS: IMPLEMENTATION OF TAX REDITS THE GOVERNMENT RESPONSE TO THE COMMITTEE'S FIRST REPORT OF SESSION 1998-99

1.  The Committee's First Report of Session 1998-99, on Tax and Benefits: Implementation of Tax Credits, was agreed to by the Committee on 25 November 1998 and published on 2 December as House of Commons Paper No. 29.

2.  We have now received in the form of a letter from the Chancellor of the Exchequer the Government's response to the Report, which is printed as an Appendix to this Special Report.
