Draft Report (NATO Enlargement), proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That further consideration of the Chairman's draft Report be now adjourned until after the examination of witnesses.-(The Chairman)

The Committee further deliberated.

General Sir Michael Walker, Brigadier Richard Holmes, and Mr John Pitt-Brooke, Ministry of Defence, called in and examined

Ordered, That Strangers do now withdraw.

Consideration of Chairman's draft Report resumed.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 117 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Third Report of the Committee to the House.

Several papers were ordered to be appended to the Minutes of Evidence.

Ordered, That the provisions of Standing Order No 134 (Select committees (reports)) be applied to the Report.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.
