Local Government Finance

Mr. Llwyd: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what were for (a) each unitary authority and (b) Wales as a whole for each year since 1992 in constant 1997 prices (i) total actual spending, (ii) the amount and percentage of total spending accounted for by (1) central Government funding and (2) local taxation and (iii) any other source

Mr. Gwilym Jones: The available information is given in the following tables. There are no estimates for the financing of spending in the current unitary authority areas prior to 1996-97.

Mr. Gwilym Jones: "Public Bodies" is an annual publication. Information for the last three years is contained in "Public Bodies" 1994, 1995 and 1996, copies of which are available in the Library of the House.
