House of Commons HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 1998 (SECTION 10): LIST OF PROPOSALS FOR REMEDIAL ORDERS, DRAFT REMEDIAL ORDERS AND URGENT PROCEDURE REMEDIAL ORDERS Session 2006-2007 Wednesday 28 February 2007 The period for parliamentary consideration of a proposal for a draft remedial order is defined by paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 to the Human Rights Act 1998 as the period of sixty days beginning on the day on which the proposal was laid before Parliament. ¶ The period for parliamentary consideration of a draft remedial order is defined by paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Human Rights Act 1998 as the period of sixty days beginning on the day on which the draft order was laid before Parliament. § The total period for parliamentary consideration of an urgent remedial order and any replacement order is defined by paragraph 4 of Schedule 2 to the Human Rights Act 1998 as the period of one hundred and twenty days (sixty days for stage 1) beginning on the day on which the original order was laid before Parliament. In each case paragraph 5 of Schedule 2 to the Act provides that in calculating the period no account is to be taken of any time during which Parliament is dissolved or prorogued or during which both Houses were adjourned for more than four days.
